Fushimi Momoyama Castle was built for retirement of Shogun Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
And it reformed as a gorgeous castle after then. When Hideyoshi was dead, the castle was burned out as the result of struggle of power. It was rebuilt by next power holder but the center of politics moved to Osaka and the castle was abolished. Naturally, the town around the castle declined.
Actually, the castle is reappeared based on its documents as a part of the castle park.
The interesting thing is the town’s area name is based on the name of generals who was lived in there. By the name and each area size, we can guess the situation of at that time who was favorite of shogun and had power.
