When you walk down the street maybe you will find some really little shrine facing to the street hidden by a building or other thing.
The area is not the land of shrine. Public street or residential areas locate those small shrines. These are remains of the rusting religious Jizo faith.
Jizo is one of the Buddha who takes care of children.
In Kyoto, there is a local festival once a year offering and preying children’s safety to Jizo.
The main person for this festival is under teenagers. They carry portable shrine, get snaks and enjoy games. It is not bad festival for children with old local playmate.
