Gozan no Okuribi Changes the time to fire since 51 years ago.

It was held one of the three major fire festival of Kyoto “Gozan no Okuribi” in Aug. 16th which is to send forward ancestors spirits came back during Obon. Around 40,000 people grazed intently at fire letters on the mountains.

It was worried about previous hard rain but as annually started at 8 o’clock fired “Daimonji” letter on Mt. Myoigatake. After that, from the East to the West fired different surround mountains’ of Kyoto city letters were fired.

This year, changed a little bit the schedule of the time of fire two of five letters 5 minutes earlier. This was happened in 1963 since 51 years ago.
