While rearrangement warehouse, found a traditional toy.

Hi,
This is continuation of golden cup.

I found a product which is interesting perhaps there is possibility to introduce foreign countries.

It says “Edo” (old Tokyo name) kite. I’m in Kyoto but why?
Anyway, let’s make it.

The manual is too much simplified … …
While tring to make it, I’m tired.
So I changed the goal.
I gave up playing with kite but finish it as it should look like.

This is view of the product done (temporally)!

W, well, it looks like ok but the other side is totally ruined … …
No closed up photo for this time.
Not to destroy the value and image of Japanese kite.

Hi,

Normally, the topic is something about Japanese traditional crafts but this time is about my Germany friend like an extra edition.

I don’t know why but we were talking about hot spring resort and I asked him about Japanese public bath. His answer was “yes”.

I was surprised and told him so. He got idea by THERMAE ROMAE. However I could not explain about the difference between THERMAE ROMAE and Japanese public bath “SENTO” so tried to ignore the topic.

I must to practice my English … …

Then he mentioned “Japanese bath pail is cool But what is Kerorin?”

Accidentally, I had a photo of the product and showed the photo to him.
He wants that.

So I tried to be pleasure my friend and presented a photo which is planning to send as a set up.
Kerorin bath pail + Tenugui hand towel of Kyoto + Samurai cup
= the perfect set up!

I was waiting his reply.

Why!

Simply he said ”That’s too much … …”

Oh, the set was excessive preparation.

So once more, I tried to ignore the topic.
I showed a photo of the beginning of 20th century and waited his reply.

What a hell is this! Unmistakably antique one and he was repented.
I think the match was draw in this time.

I asked to send a Germany antique signboard for the next time to finish.

Hi,

The first contact in the morning was from France (well, it is night time in France)
It says “send me Setta!” by Facebook chat.

Setta … …

It’s so well up order.

There are many types so the order is kind of difficult to tell the one.
Maybe this one?

The person says Setta not Geta neither Zori.
This means the person has knowledge about Japanese culture.

Just in case to make it sure, I asked to the person “The Setta’s sole is processed. Is that OK?”

The answer was “Of, course!”
As the person knows too much, it’s difficult!

Lately, I feel there are foreigners who knows about Japan more than a Japanese.
