There are many ancient traditions in Japan. One of them calls “Engimono”, which means bringer of good luck.

For example, beckoning cat, lantern plant, dried bonito shavings, folding fan, Sake barrel, crane, turtle, etc. There are so many things are able to pick up as examples. In the recent society, these tradition are reducing and disappearing but there is industry where strongly held the tradition such as Gion and other Maiko/Geiko industry.

The industry set high value on relationship between people to work. The industry is not able to say normal traditional Japan but it is sure they keep more traditional routines than any other people. Especially, it says Engimono affect strongly to their everyday life.
