Rice ball

I’m sure you’ve heard about a word rice ball.

The name shows the thing but it uses not normal rice. It uses sweet rice. Sweet rice has stronger stickiness to make a ball than normal rice.

Rice ball was eaten for special event as its difficulty of cultivation and hard working process to make a ball. Recently, it is able to obtain anytime, however the originally it was made for festival, marriage and new year event.

There is no settlement of shape but East side makes rectangle and West makes circle rice ball. East side Japan changed the original circle shape to make it faster. They make a board and cool it then cut. Of course there is no difference between the shapes.
